AMENITIES

The Peninsula has a variety of amenities for the use and enjoyment of the residents.

LUNA KAI PARK

The open grassy area of Luna Kai Park is located in the Recreation Center area alongside the marina Promenade and is the largest open space at the Peninsula.  This pet-free environment is popular for casual family relaxation and recreation.  There is a pavilion at the end of the park.

PROMENADE

This walkway starts at the Recreation Center, winds along the marina passing by the boat docks and The Cottages, and ends at the Kiddie Park at the tip of the peninsula.  This Promenade is perfect for a leisurely stroll at sundown or jogging at dawn.

This narrow pathway is not suitable, however, for skates, skateboards, scooters, roller blades, bicycles, tricycles, motor bikes, or other similar recreational items.  For safety sake, they are prohibited on the Promenade.

KIDDIE PARK

At the tip of The Peninsula is a small park with play equipment designed for young children under adult supervision.  This location offers good views of the broad expanse of marina.

Care must be taken that children do not climb on the tables, trellis, or the sea or rock walls adjacent to the park.  Please adhere to the safety rules posted in the House Rules.

EXERCISE ROOM

The Exercise Room is located near the office at Luna Kai Park and is part of the Recreation Center.  It contains a variety of workout machines, such as treadmills, stationary bicycles, and resistance and weight machines.
The facility is open 24 hours a day.

All residents may use the Exercise Room but at their own risk and must abide by the Exercise Room Regulations.  Two Exercise Room/HKP Pool keys are issued per owner who must provide them to tenants or to new owners at resale.

Meeting Room

The HKP Meeting Room with kitchen facilities is available to residents for private gatherings, parties, and meetings.  A small user fee is charged and a refundable security deposit is collected to insure that the room is left clean and undamaged.  Users must agree to abide by the regulations for using the room for private events.

BOAT DOCKS

The dock along the seawall near Luna Kai Park has 10 boat slips.  In 2006 the slips were assigned by lottery to resident owners and a waiting list was established to fill spaces as they become available.  Boat owners pay an additional monthly fee for dock/slip maintenance.

Access to the boat docks is restricted to assigned boat owners only.  Residents are asked to respect the rights and property of boat owners and not enter the dock area unless accompanied by a boat slip boat owner.  Children must not play on the docks or boats.

A community launching site for kayaks, canoes, and private boats is available in Maunalua Bay or at Hancock Landing on Hawaii Kai Drive, a short distance from the Peninsula.  All HKP residents may use the Hancock Landing ramp provided they have the proper registration for their vessel.  For more information, contact Hawaii Kai Marina Association which manages this private community marina ( http://www.hawaiikaimarina.com)   See also Peninsula Boat Dock Rules and (Boat Dock Slip Request Form).
